Uncle Clem’s keeps streak going

The third week of the Cayman Islands Flag Football Association Co-ed League pitted 12 teams in matches at the Ed Bush field in West Bay on Friday, Mar. 10.

In the first game, Burger Shack took on Bogle Insurance which turned out to be a crowd pleaser as both teams vied to score. Burger Shack star players like Perry Levy and Shenel Gall advanced the ball and scored for the team allowing them to win 27-18. Popeyes against Burger King was another close game; however, Popeyes were victors by a 32-20 margin. Maggie Ebanks and Nicholas Roberts of Popeyes played a pivotal role in their team’s win.

In the second round of games Deloitte, a new team to the co-ed league, played hard and they were not disheartened by their loss to Maples. Key players like Martina Bodden and Fabio Gall stood out for Maples as they scored freely to help Maples win 41-8.

Latoya Cover

Seafire, another new team, showed admirable team spirit, cheering for each other throughout. Even though they lost 42-0 to Kirk Freeport they were still in high spirts. Kirk Freeport’s Shamar Ennis and Jerry Beck stood out.

The last games of the night were between Cayman National Bank vs Uncle Clem’s Packers and Dart vs Tribe Tattoo Fifty Shades. On a two-week winning streak, Uncle Clem’s Packers came out to continue the winning path with players like Latoya Cover and David Taylor magnificent in their 21-13 win. The other game was hugely exciting. Both teams went head to head throughout the nail biter game as each played very well on offense and defense. The game ended in Dart’s favor, 14-12. Samantha Grundy and Daniel Canencia stood out the most in this game for Dart.

CIFFA acknowledged Latoya Cover, Shenel Gall and David Taylor for winning joint-females and male player of the week.
