Exhausted after swimming 800 metres at full pelt, John Bodden collapsed into a heap on Seven Mile Beach as he crossed the finish first in Saturday’s sea swim.
Moments behind him, Rory Barrett and Zachary Moore came in second and third respectively as more than a 100 people took to the waters for the race sponsored by Flow.
The trio led the field from the outset, slowly stretching the gap from the chasing pack over the course of the half mile race.
For Bodden, the victory was extra special as he also won last year’s race.
But this event wasn’t just about those chasing the top spot. Children and adults of all ages and abilities gathered on Governor’s Beach for the race.
This was the 30th year the swim was held in Cayman.
