Forty minutes later and another armed raid, this time at the Esso gas station on Shamrock Road. Again two masked men threatened staff before escaping with cash.

Police say the same car, a red Honda Civic reported stolen Tuesday, was used in both hold-ups.

The around 8.40 a.m. a man entered McArthur’s Store on North Church Street close to the waterfront, after a short time in the shop he left, only to return minutes later armed with a gun.

He escaped with cash and fled in a small, tan-coloured car which police say was possible a Honda and had the number “583” in the registration plate.

Anyone with information about any of the robberies is asked to call police on 949-4222.
