Veuve Clicquot Rich

Fancy splashing the cash? The aptly named Veuve Clicquot Rich will have you feeling like you just won the lottery – if only till you check your bank balance. Champagne house Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin is based in Reims, France, and has been a producer of luxury Champagnes since 1772. Indeed, it is reported that Veuve Clicquot played an important role in establishing Champagne as a favoured drink amongst nobility throughout Europe. The name “Rich” is actually a term to describe Champagnes that are blended for greater sweetness. Due to its sweeter taste, Veuve Clicquot Rich is specifically designed as a cocktail mixer – or, as the Champagne house like to market it – for mixology. But, you don’t need to be a master mixologist to enjoy it. Pour it over ice and add your favourite fruit for a refreshing summer sip, with style.

2015 Gerard Bertrand Cotes des Roses

Reds can often feel too heavy in summer, so instead opt for a light and refreshing rose wine. From the Languedoc region, France, this deliciously light and easy-to-drink rose celebrates the easy going Mediterranean lifestyle with aromas of summer fruits, cassis, redcurrants, and floral notes of rose. The Languedoc appellation stretches along the Mediterranean coast from the Spanish border as far as the city of Nîmes, along the foothills of the Montagne Noire and the Cévennes. The warm, windy climate helps the grapes to fully ripen while still retaining all their fresher qualities thanks to the altitude and the influence of the sea. It’s beautifully designed rose bottomed bottle makes it a wonderful gift too. Perfect enjoyed with fresh summer salads.

Corona

Nothing says summer than a cool glass of Corona and a fresh wedge of lime for added tartness and flavour. Corona is a pale lager from Mexico and is one of the top-selling brands in the world. The beer first went into production in 1925 and within a decade it had become the best-selling beer in Mexico. Today, you’ll find it in pretty much every bar and restaurant in Cayman. “When you think summer, you think Corona,” John Alvarado, Corona marketing vice president said. “Popping off the cap and dropping in a lime, instantly transports you to that carefree-state-of-mind no matter where you are.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
