Talk about needed extra baggage space – Academy Sports Club certainly did after returning from a football tournament in the United States.
They won not one, not two but THREE trophies.
The Under 10 boys time won the Schwan Gold Cup, the Under 12 girls picked up Silver, while the Under 15 boys came away with the runners-up prize.
A spokesman for Academy said: “We brought home three cups, but more importantly we brought home amazing memories of a fantastic week at the U.S.A. Cup 2017.
“Our players performed impressively on and off the field and made all of us at ASC extremely proud! This group of young people are a credit to their families, our club and our country. We want to thank everyone who made this amazing trip possible.”
Cayman voices could be heard on the pitch among teams from 15 countries, 17 states in the U.S. and five provinces.
In total, 16,000 players from more than 1,100 teams took part in the tournament that was held over two weeks in Minnesota.
All matches were played at the 54-field National Sports Centre, which, according to the Guinness Book of Records, is the latest soccer complex in the world.
