A local runner has raised money for the third consecutive year for a local charity, this time the Cayman Islands Red Cross.
Paul Williams is the founder of Wind of Hope who raised $4,500 for the Red Cross in a 5k walk/run he helped organise called the Wind of Hope 5k on June 11.
Red Cross resources manager Samantha White-Smith thanked the group for their donation and said the money will go toward helping the most vulnerable members of society.
The Wind of Hope is a small community of volunteers, who give their time to assist charities in need.
In the previous two years, they have assisted the Pines in raising $9,000 overall.
Williams said: “Our vision is to support local charities that are in need as volunteers. We will use sporting initiatives to fund these projects.”
