Speaker of the House, McKeeva Bush has spoken out after it was revealed there will be no charges brought against him over allegations he grabbed a waitress’s buttocks at a Florida casino.
On Friday. The Broward State Attorney’s office dropped its investigation.
Speaking through his lawyer, Keith Seltzer, Mr. Bush thanked his wife, friends and family for their support since his arrest last month.
Mr. Bush said: “I have protested my innocence and repeatedly stated that I committed no crime. I have expected and anticipated that a thorough review of the allegation would prove the same.
“I am thankful for the work my attorney did on my behalf, the diligence of the State Attorney’s office and the support I have received from my loving wife, family members, government officials, friends and constituents.
“The last few weeks have been very difficult for me and my family and the support we have received has helped us get through these difficult times.
“To my my detractors, my only hope is that you never have to go through what me and my family have over the past few weeks, but if you do, hopefully those around you will not rush to judgement and say or write disparaging comments before the truth prevails.”
