Police are hunting a beggar who stabbed a man in the chest after asking for money.
Around 1.30 a.m. Tuesday morning, police were called to Shedden Road after reports of the stabbing outside Subway.
A spokeswoman for the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said: “The victim was going into the Subway restaurant when he was approached by a man who was asking him for money. The victim told the man that he did not have any money, but the man persisted.
“When the victim felt threatened and pushed the man away, and the man stabbed the victim with an unknown object in the chest. He then ran away toward Cardinal Avenue and then onto Fort Street.
“The victim attended the George Town Hospital for treatment for a minor injury to his chest, and was later released. The matter is currently under police investigation and we are seeking any witnesses.”
