More than 180 runners and walkers hit the pavement Saturday morning to support the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre.
Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants’ fifth annual charity 5K/10K has become a regular on the local running circuit. This year, the race started and finished at Cricket Square with the course taking runners from town through Smith Road and South Church Street areas before coming back up Elgin Avenue.
Participants in the 10K completed the loop twice. Volunteers from the Crisis Centre and CIIPA helped keep the course safe, and participants hydrated.
The first male to cross the finish line for the 5K was Radz Intrepid, in a time of 22 minutes 05 seconds, followed quickly by the first place female Ava Hider in a time of 22:14.
Top male and female in the 10K were Okeve Hamilton in 46:25, and Louise Carroll 53:48. Participants were treated to breakfast and raffle prizes with gifts donated by Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort, F45 gym, Regal Cinema, Le Visage, Bon Vivant, and Market Street Group.
During the awards, CIIPA CEO Sheree Ebanks thanked the CIIPA Social Committee, and particularly Claire Griffin for organizing the event, Fosters Food Fair for assisting with post-race hydration, as well as sponsors: Baker Tilly, BDO, Crowe Horwath, Deloitte, Eisner Amper, EY, Grant Thornton, IMS, KPMG, and PwC.
